Key Highlights

  • IOM initiated kitchens in four schools in Hudaydah where displaced people are currently residing. Through these kitchens and other facilities, over 20,400 hot meals have been served since the current crisis began.
  • Provided medical consultation to 5,798 individuals, antenatal care to 478 pregnant women, reproductive health consultation to 762 individuals, MHPSS services to 604 individuals as well as conducted health promotion activities among 2,306 individuals to date in Hudaydah since the current crisis began in June.

Situation

The situation in Hudaydah continues to be unstable, with some instances of armed clashes and shelling in multiple locations in Hays district and stand-off attacks and airstrikes reported in other districts including Al-Hawak, AdDurayhimi, At-Tuhayat, Bajil, Al-Mina, Al-Hali, Az-Zaydiyah, Alluheyah, As-Salih, and Bayt Al-Faqih. Military operations around the airport are currently static and the Hudaydah port is still operational. Displacement continues within and outside the Governorate. Many families who escaped the conflict have found temporary accommodation in public schools within Hudaydah and also in Sana’a, Dhamar, and Amran.
